Music video critque - Mr Benn feat. Serocee Rising Star

This music video is a prime example of what I am planning to create for my final piece because of the way it has been edited for example the way it cross cuts from scene to another and slowed down in places to give it another element. Temporally slowing down film can be effective especially if its a music video because its possible to give the impression that the music and the video are both synchronized which can mark the moment if there's a story behind the video. It has been filmed in black and white, which I think makes it effective especially when there’s film footage of urban areas, and live performances because I think it gives depth to the buildings and streets.

Music video critque- Supernova Pilot- Dub FX, CAde, Pete Philly & Mr. Woodnote

Filmed by dowenboy films this song and video brings four of the influences of Convoy together, It gives the music artists the chance to express their individual tallent and style. The whole of the video is filmed in black and white which is what I am aiming to do when I create my video. The video shows all of the music artists performing as the music is being made live on top of a roof in Amsterdam, it has been featured in the short Amsterdam documentary which has also been produced by bd films. Im hopeing to acheive a simular outcome when producing my own music video becuase I find this one inspiering. One of my favorite parts of this video is when Mr Woodnote plays the saxaphone because it works perfectly with the reverb affect.

FMP Research- final project

What is my the final major project?

The final major project is a chance to express our creative ability's and create a project to be featured in the summer show. I am planning to produce a song featuring some of my musical contacts to play the guitar and sing. Once I have finished the song I'm planning to create a music video, the video will contain film footage of me and anyone else involved in the song weather its singing or playing any instruments. I will also include footage of me doing fire staff, a record spinning on a turn table and some other interesting scenes that I will cross cut between. It is aimed at particular inderviduals aged between 15 - 30 and may also be interested in independent music artists featured on youtube and soundcloud. People interested in my work may have a career in the music or film industry becuase my project is made up of the song and my video although they are most likely be a student studying a media based subject. My final major project may be displayed on youtube or listend to on soundcloud becuase I wouldnt like to allow it to be shown on TV if I got the chance becuase it would be too commercial.

The Envelope

Person x sits in a plain badly light grey interrogation room, looking at a clock impatiently he waits nervously tapping his knees with his thumb. All of a sudden someone bursts into the room with an envelope addressed to “Detective X” in their hand. The envelope is then handed over and the contents are never revealed, person x then walks out of the room in deep thought, stops suddenly by the outside of the door and cries with rage and slams his hand into the wall. He looks up and begins to walk intensely down the corridor before him. Person x stops for thought, reaches into his pocket and realises the envelope is not there, he searches his clothes franticly for the envelope exclaiming by shouting in fear of losing it. Person x the envelope, where is it? Person x reappears in the original space as scene one and goes back to where they were originally sat to look for the envelope but it isn't there, only a note left behind which says “Check mate.”

DvD Cover-Attack the Block

The front of attack the blocks cover includes seven of the main characters with the leader of the gang of young people from the estate in the middle. The colour scheme is mainly dark blues and greys to give the cover a creepy modern vibe. Even without watching the film itself you can immediately tell the personalty of each character, this is shown by the body language, facial expressions and the way the characters are dressed. All of the characters on the cover have one thing in common because they are all fixated on one of the aliens that has come to earth but how each of them are reacting to it is totally different.
