Banksy-research

Banksy

Banksy is a famous graffiti artist that is known throughout the world for his dark humour and distinctive stencilling techniques. His artistic work of political and social issues that has been featured across the streets and walls of the world is the key to what makes him so talented and stand out from the amateurs that give graffiti artists such a bad name. Some of banksys fans have noted that his style is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in Paris 1981. However Banksy himself made clear on his website that technically he based his work on a 3D format from Massive Attack, stating, "No, I copied 3D from Massive Attack. He can actually draw."

Despite for his known issue with the government in stereotypically labelling graffiti as vandalism, Banksy displays his art on public surfaces such as walls. He shows his ability to create more than just graffiti wall art by even going as far as building physical prop pieces. Although Banksy doesn't sell his street art directly himself but art auctioneers have been known to attempt to sell his street art.
